What comes in the sample box?

Every box holds at least 15 lb of black angus beef raised on our family farm: 2 steaks, and every box gets a NY strip, ribeye, or filet mignon paired with a second premium steak or a sirloin. Then 2 chuck roasts, 1 to 4 round steaks, and at least 5 lb of ground beef in 1 lb packs. Exact cuts and weights vary slightly box to box.

Do I pay everything up front?

For the sample box and ground beef, yes: the box is $165, paid in full at checkout, and nothing more later. For quarter, half, and whole shares, you only pay a 25% deposit today to reserve your beef. The remaining balance is due at pickup or delivery.

When will my beef be ready?

Accepted Answer

Sample boxes are built from beef we have already processed, so they are ready now. Shares come from our next processing run: we process twice per year, in the spring and fall, and once processing begins it typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete packaging and pickup. Shares usually sell out months in advance, so we recommend reserving early.

How much freezer space do I need?

A 15 lb sample box fits in a standard kitchen fridge freezer. A quarter beef (about 90 lbs) needs 4 to 5 cubic feet, roughly a small chest freezer. A half beef (about 175 lbs) needs 8 to 9 cubic feet. A whole beef (about 350 lbs) needs 16 or more cubic feet.

How do I get my box?

Two options: pickup at Washington Trace Farm in California, KY, or local delivery in the NKY and Greater Cincinnati area. You choose at checkout and we reach out to schedule a time. We do not ship.

Accepted Answer

We deliver across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati: Alexandria, Cold Spring, Highland Heights, Fort Thomas, Newport, Covington, Independence, Florence, Union, Erlanger, and Cincinnati. A little outside that? Call or text 859 757 3958 and we will usually find a way.

How is the beef packaged?

All our beef is professionally butchered, vacuum sealed, and frozen to lock in freshness. Each package is clearly labeled with the cut name. It keeps 12 months or more in your freezer.

We build boxes in small batches, so the counts you see on the site are live. If your box is sold out, call or text us at 859 757 3958 and we will put you on the list for the next batch.
